Gray & Company has recently been bought by J. Graham & Co. who were established in 1857 and are now one of the finest outdoor specialists in Scotland. Previously, Gray & Company was in the same family ownership
since 1898, and has been run by three consecutive generations
of the Milne family. Originally the leading gunsmith and hunting
and fishing tackle merchant in the North of Scotland, the expansion
of the company into optics came about in 1971.
The closure of the last telescope manufacturer
in the late sixties had left stalkers unable to purchase the
three-draw telescopes that had been their popular choice for
decades. Gray & Company, with first- hand knowledge of the needs
of Scottish stalkers, set about updating and redesigning the
traditional telescope to incorporate modern, high technology
production methods and produce an even better product than had
previously been available.
The principal advantages of the Gray telescope
when compared to older models are much improved optics and lighter
yet stronger bodies. Over time, as development continues in
both optics and alloys, as used in the telescope tubes, such
improvements are automatically incorporated into our product.
Gray & Company has always prided itself on personal
service, and that is as true today as it ever was: we do our
utmost to make sure that every customer is happy with both the
product and our after sales service. We truly believe that the
most effective form of marketing is a word of praise from a
completely satisfied buyer.
In recent years, there has been a notable increase
in interest and sales to outdoor enthusiasts as we continue
to serve the needs of the stalker and hunter. Please feel free
to contact us with any questions
you may have regarding our telescopes; we will do everything
we can to help.
